I don't think I agree and I've pointed this out before, to a (roughly)
700 year old man 10 years is like 1 year to a normal person. As you
get older, time flys by pretty fast, so at 700 a year flys by like a
month. Plus in 700 years, you've probably gotten you fingers into a
lot of things; investment, businesses, several bank account, personal
property, land, homes, who knows how many kids, unpublished work, half
finished research, etc.... 

In my opinion, relative to a 700 year old man, 10 years is barely
enough time to get your affairs in order.

I very much think that we will see Nicholas Flamel in person at some
point in this story. I can only imagine how freaked out Hermione is
going to be when she meet someone of such historical importance.

Just my opinion.
