Hello pretty_feet51 at yahoo.com,

In reference to your comment:

è About Hagrid and Snape's relationship. I think you are
è right in a sense that Hagrid trusts Snape because
è Dumbledore trusts him. I also think that in many
è ways, Hagrid and Snape are similiar, and Hagrid sees
è that. They're both people who most of society would
è have shunned and carted off to Azkaban. Yet
è Dumbledore gave both of them a second chance.

Precisely. In PS, when the trio claim Snape is trying to kill Harry, to steal
the stone, to be a big baddie, Hagrid defends him time and again. Hagrid
knows what the children do not; I am sure of it. I think that Hagrid knows
more than we do about Snape and his past. Hagrid was either already 'Keeper
of Keys and Grounds' or still apprentice to Ogg when Snape was a student.
Hagrid has been by Dumbledore's side throughout the events will Lord V, so he
has seen much of what Dumbledore has seen. Thusly, and coupled with the
protection and second chances Dumbledore has offered Hagrid, Hagrid would be
connected on many levels to Snape.

I have been thinking a great deal, whilst lurking as of late on the
discussions of Snape and his treatment of Harry and the other students.
Whereas, there are many times I feel he goes out of his way to be putridly
nasty to those not in his house, I have come to quite fancy the reasons
behind his treatment of Harry. At first, when i read posts on how Harry was
being ill treated by
Snape I disagreed with the small lot of you who think that there is good
reason behind it. Yet, after taking a break from most of the discussions and
re-reading all four books- because I am a nerd- I have to say I find a lot of
that arguement to be right.

Harry does take liberty that shouldn't be his. Regardless of Snape's history
with James or perhaps because of it, he feels Harry needs to learn the
lessons of staying within the rules and limitation of the situation.... which
brings me to this--
We know Snape didn't like James and Company, but maybe there is more to why
he treats Harry as he does. Perhaps some of the lax rules and mischief we
know James loved brought about his downfall, and despite disdain for James,
Snape doesn't want to see Harry end up with the same result....

Just some thoughts.

First of all, in the movie Ron said that. In the books, it was
Hagrid.
