Was Harry specifically conceived to destroy Voldemort?

My response:
I guess my feeling on the inheritance of traits is that magical
aptitude, particularly areas of strength, might be something that one
can inherit just like eye color or physical ability. After all, many
at Hogwarts thought that Harry must be the Heir of Slytherin when he
was revealed as a Parseltongue in CoS. If those in the WW thought
that a descendent of Slytherin was more likely to have his same
magical skills, then maybe the descendent of Gryffindor might also
have inherited some special skills. Just like the green eyes, I
don't think the inheritance of magical traits would be a foregone
conclusion, but it might be more likely due to the hereditary link.
Thanks for replying on this and thanks to others who mentioned that
they see similar parallels.
