You're right - what I said was a complete generalization.  But it 
might excuse me a little bit to say that I was refering to the pride 
exhibited by Mr. Darcy in "Pride and Prejudice" which was of a 
specific, noxious type.  Darcy's pride is one of superiority and 
contempt for others.  Harry's pride is more based on himself - he 
wants to prove himself, wants to know that he can manage on 
his own, wants to show that he is just as good as anyone else.  
*Draco* also has pride, but his pride is more in line with Darcy's 
- Harry's is of a different, more acceptable sort.

I could criticize Harry - he *does* have pride, and it is a pain - but 
he really doesn't deserve it in regards to this.
