Susanne:"For some reason Hermione seems to have turned into an almost
perfect goddess in HP fandom. She can do no wrong and is loved by all
the males around her...Nobody can measure up to her (well, maybe Harry
and he'd better start noticing her if he knows what's good for him!)."

Amy:"I have noted the same tendency, and even if it is because women
identify with Hermione, why make her into Superwoman? I identify
strongly with Hermione *because* of her rough edges as well as some of
her more likeable characteristics. I know I'm not the only recovering
know-it-all on this list who has a soft spot for soul- sister Hermione."

I think I'm as guilty as anyone here of writing as though Hermione is
Wonder Woman, because of my admiration of her growth and how well
she's turning out. I confess it.

I offer as an excuse that I'm aware of her faults, but they don't seem
important compared to her good qualities, so I tend to ignore them. I
do the same thing when my daughters do great stuff; I know they're not
perfect, but most of the time I don't care.

I think Hermione's good qualities are running her life now. Her
"edges" just make her more interesting.

Jim, who's raising a cross between Hermione and Fred/George right now.
