bigtime second thoughts. <snip>

Draco can certainly talk the
talk, but the big question is:
can he walk the walk as a full-
fledged Death Eater? Can he do
it effectively and correctly?
If not, I can see Lucius forcibly removing him from the equation.

Yahoomort got my reply to this, so, since it didn't show up before my
later post, I'm gonna repost. ;-)
Do we have any evidence at all that Voldemort enlists students into
his ranks? I mean, the youngest Death Eater I can recall hearing
about is Barty Crouch Jr., and when Harry sees him in the Pensieve he
observes:
"a boy in his late teens."
(GoF, US hardcover, Ch.30, p594)
Um, so assuming that Barty had been associated with them for a little
while, it's *possible* that he was involved when he was still at
Hogwarts, although I'd suggest that it would seem highly unlikely to
me that this would be the case.
I mean, does anyone think that Draco, Crabbe, Goyle or Nott would be
privy to the counsels and plans of the Death Eaters ala attending
their meetings and having the Dark Mark burnt into them and so forth?
It just seems like a remote chance, because Voldemort expresses
concerns, at least of Harry being:
"under the crooked nose of that Muggle-loving fool from morning
until night."
(GoF, US hardcover, Ch.33, p657)
So, does anyone think that Voldemort would risk his own plans with a
student in a comparable situation? I can only see it if somehow the
student needed to get something done at the school, but even then it
seems like a difficult proposition. I mean, the kids of accused Death
Eaters, IMO, would be sure to be watched *very* closely, and
Voldemort would seem to be a smart strategist who would realize that.
I just don't know if he'd risk it.
