I sort of messed up this post by double posting then deleting one of
the posts that has another message link to it. Consequently both post
dropped out of the treaded list. So I deleted the originals and am
posting them again. Sorry for the confusion.

If I read your last post correctly, you are not searching for the so
called 'correct' pronunciation, but are taking a poll to find out how
different HP fans pronounce it?
Am I right?
ani - mag - US
'anih' as in animal smoothly blended with 'mag' and emphasis on 'US'
animagUS
to me, the 'anima' is rooted in and pronounced like 'animal', however
the transition from 'a' to 'l' produces a soft short vowel, whereas
the transition from 'a' to 'g' gives the short vowel a harder sound
(as in 'magazine'), with that slight inflection change, 'US' is
emphasized at the end.
For plural, I have frequently seen 'animagi' which I would pronounce
using the same framework outlined above to come up with -
ani-mag-EYE
But then, that's just me.
