I'd really like to hear your take on it being unfair to like
either Draco *or* Ron, but not both.

I have a problem with the thinking that Draco isn't so bad
and perfectly redeemable, but Ron is obviously destined for
evil.

But liking Ron and not Draco seems perfectly fair to me <g>.

While Ron has his less than nice moments, he also has many
more likable qualities.

I'm biased, of course ;)
