Not necessarily.  Even though he is described as both round-faced and clumsy, 
this does not necessarily mean fat.  I was so round-faced that I was called 
pumpkin head, and also exceedingly clumsy--and I was quite UNDERweight.  I've 
also wondered why JKR has never had a character do a remarkable summer 
transformation (aka Winnie Cooper in "The Wonder Years", which some Americans 
might remember). While she refers to Harry having outgrown his robes and Ron 
his pajamas, I remember, in my early teens, looking forward to seeing how 
much people had changed over the summer.  I would love to see a tall, 
heart-throbby Neville this term, perhaps even a Neville with the potential to 
be an outstanding Quidditch player!
