PoA, Ch.19: Sirius - "And when I saw their house, destroyed, and
their bodies..."
SS/PS, Ch.1: Hagrid - "...house was almost destroyed, but I got him
out alright before the Muggles started swarmin' around."
PoA, Ch.10: Hagrid - "Jus' got him outta the ruins, poor little
thing..."
I found these after a quick skim, but nothing that states that the
house was burning after the attack--just destroyed. Which would make
sense: the aftermath of the rebounded curse was so powerful, it
destroyed Voldemort and blew the Potter's house apart. Can anyone
cite an instance where the house is described as burning/on fire?
We know that Hagrid was sent to collect Harry, and that there is a
large gap of time (18-24hrs) from between when he was sent to the
Potters' and when he arrived at the Dursleys'. Maybe Hagrid was also
transporting the Potters' bodies to a safe place as well?
Emily, who also finds this topic morbid, but intriguing.
