Me: I don't have the texts with me, so working
from memory ...
1. Sirius says he found the bodies of James and Lily.
2. Cedric's body is intact after Wormtail AK'd him.
3. The bodies of Volemort's father and grandparents
were intact and whole. IIRC, Cedric and the Riddles
had the same expression on their faces, so I'm
assuming Voldemort AK'd his family.
4. From items 2 & 3, I don't think fire is associated
with Avada Kedavra.
5. After Moody/Barty Crouch Jr. killed Crouch Sr., he
transformed his body into a bone and buried it. This
is not evidence that wizards bury their dead, but it is
likely.
6. We aren't told of any visits by the Dursleys and
Harry to the Potters' gravesites.

So, I think the Potters' bodies were recovered and buried
by members of the Wizard World. The fire might have been
caused by Wormtail when he caused the explosion that killed
the twelve Muggles?

Loony Loopy, who is a little creeped out by such a morbid topic.
