With this whole "fan" dying thing, what may be is that JKR was being 
sarcastic when she said "A special fan of Harry's will die."

Most of us know the rumour that one of Harry's fans will die in OotP 

On my way around I also found these other sources/ references to 
the "Fan" or "Horrile death" but I can't find ANY Cannon.

I have a vague recollection of JKR saying not only that someone who 
is a big
fan of Harry will die in Book 5, but also that it will tear her 
apart to write
this person's death.

Hope this is of some help to someone but I'm begining to think it is 
just a rumour!
