I can't let this pass. We know that's what Snape *thinks.* We still
do not know that that was Sirius' intent. Boy, I hope JKR gives more
backstory on this. Although, perhaps this is the perfect example of
JKR skillfully making her readers believe that Sirius is not to be
trusted, that underneath that handsome exterior beats a heart of
darkness.
