OOP: Grimmauld Place > Sirius' parentage

I have been wondering about that too. I had assumed that Sirius' 
father would have been a Black and his mother married into the 
family. 

What puzzles me is that Sirius tells Harry that Kreacher was more 
loyal to Sirius' mother than his father. Apart from when they are 
cleaning out the cabinet in the drawing room, there are very few 
references to his father at all. Its an icky thought, but could his 
Mother also have been a Black or at least a member of the Black 
dynasty? Perhaps she was also the grand daughter of Phineas Nigellus 
or a distant cousin. This would explain Kreacher's devotion. I know 
nothing about genealogy however, so I don't know how plausible this 
is. 

I do hope we get to learn more about the Black family even though 
Sirius is dead. There are two many questions buzzing around in my 
head to just leave it there!
