took Snape by total surprise when Harry "blocked" him, Snape said
something like "I don't remember telling you to use a shield charm,
but it proved quite effective"...so I think albeit subconciously, on
his own or as an aside to his increasin skills and prowess in DADA,
Harry was learning Occlumency. I also wonder if he did not
intentionally "unintentionally" hold back as the story implied-hoping
to learn more of Mom, Dad, other Oreder members, etc.
