Now me:
Do we know for sure it was a Stunning Spell? We see a jet of red
light, but we don't hear Bellatrix's incantation. I assumed it was
some sort of killing spell that we haven't yet heard of - there are
presumably other ways to kill apart from Avada Kedavra?
It never occurred to me that Sirius only died once he went through
the veil. Harry hears voices behind the veil, and presumably they
are the voices of the dead - not just those who happened to be hit
with a spell right in front of the veil in the Department of
Mysteries and fall through the veil (I would think there would be
very few of such deaths).
