I know that was posted a while ago ::grins sheepishly:: but I have, obviously, been inundated with posts ever since we were able to talk about OoP. I've had a hard time keeping up with reading posts, not to mention adding my two cents worth!
Anyway, I don't have the book with me for any quotes, but that's probably okay. Importantly, before Ginny gives Mrs. Weasley's Easter eggs to Harry, he had just witnessed Snape's worst memory.
We all know by now (except the slackers who have yet to finish! Just kidding :) that in the Pensieve, James Potter is sitting beside the lake with MWP tossing the captured Snitch.
Because of what occurs after this between James and "Snivellus", Harry is justifiably upset. That is a whole other subject, so I'll stop with that line of thought ;)and continue with my point.
Having just seen the admitedly impressive Snitch-catching skills of James and then seeing him bully Snape, the Easter egg probably makes Harry upset just because of what he saw - it reminded him of the arrogance he had seen in his father.
I hope I'm not repeating anything other people have said, and this is all of course my take on the book. Knowing Rowling, I'm dead wrong. I also must add that, not being a SHIPper :D I think that seeing any signs of possible feelings between Harry and Ginny just doesn't make sense. I mean, a Snitch? I just don't think that it's a coincidence that Harry had just seen his father w/ one and was then emotional. Because I'm biased *somewhat* against this instance of SHIPing (please don't hurt me!) feel free to flame me or anything that floats your boat, and also feel free to agree, by all means!
My rambling is over.
