OoP: Snape as teacher

I have my own ideas as to why Snape isn't Given DADA teaching 
position; Paying close attention to GOF, there is specific mention of 
the scar/tattoo on Snape's forearm. I feel that albus isn't giving 
him the slot for the same reasons you would not give an alcoholic a 
bottle of scotch. To paraphrase an old quote; "Power corrupts and 
absolute power corrupts absolutely"
