Now me:

Oh, good point.  It's the same in the UK version, I just jumped to a 
conclusion.  Sirius first ducks a jet of red light (no incantation 
provided or perhaps even uttered?) and then it reads "The second jet 
of light hit him squarely on the chest."  So the implication is that 
the second jet was also red, but it doesn't say that specifically.
