Now me:

I found this a bit odd as well - when I started the book, I was
pleased to see that she wasn't giving the type of detailed background
description that is present in all of the past four books (and tends
to bog down the progress of the book), but then as I read further,
there were places where she felt compelled to give the backstory. I
would also have preferred that she either choose one approach or the
other, rather than a combination which I agree makes it impossible to
fully understand what is going on in OoP unless one has already read
at least PoA and GoF.

Me again:

I loved Tonks too, although I think it's because I'm a klutz and
could therefore really relate to her! I also thought she served a
valuable purpose - while the odds seem stacked against Harry in
becoming an Auror due to the Transfiguration and Potions hurdles,
Tonks shows us that you can be an Auror even if you have faults.

Me again:

I seemed to have missed this - she's not in the picture of the
original Order that Mad-Eye shows Harry, and when she breaks down
while tackling the boggart, Lupin tells her that she doesn't
understand that things are different this time because she wasn't in
the original Order. Can you help me out?
