Clearly, Dumbledore didn't know everything that was going on or he
would have done somemthing, wouldn't he? Rather than lose one of his
students to Voldemort.

Not ganging-up, tag-teaming... Didn't know there are actual terms to
describe bullying. They do not attack at once but they are both
making sure Snape remains helpless for the duration of the attack.

As in "Snape was always trying to curse James?" Very conveniently
vague. We don't know who started it and it certainly looks like
James was the one.

We don't know exactly under what circumstances Sirius let slip how
you could get past the Whomping Willow. Revisionist Remus told that
story and considering the animosity between Snape and Sirius for
Snape to trust Sirius' words there must have been something else
there. Perhaps Sirius arranged so that Snape would overhear. That
would make sense.
I should point out that Sirius is planning murder in this oh, so
amusing scene you have regalled us with. Yes, funny as hell, isn't
it?
As for wanting to get the Marauders into trouble... who wouldn't try
to get his tormentors expelled any way he could?
