"To be a good commander, you must be willing to order the death of the thing
you love....You must hold nothing back..." - Robert E. Lee, GETTYSBURG
A commander in battle cannot afford to take into consideration his "caring"
for someone - "We must use the tools we have," as Lincoln said. If the defeat
of Voldemort requires somehow the sacrifice of Harry Potter, or Severus Snape,
or Dumbledore himself, then that is what he must do. "The needs of the many
outweight the needs of the few, or the one" - & a Wizarding World under
Voldemort is too horrible to be contemplated. It's the choice between what's right,
& what's easy.
