To make it even more unbelievable, we actually spell them Worcester and
Leicester. The 'shire' suffix should be pronounced as it's spelt, or more
commonly "shur" (but more shortened).
Worcester and Leicester are towns (or maybe cities). Add the 'shire' and you
get counties (and they may be pre-1970s names for the counties as well).
And yes, I pronounce the word as "Aura".
