Me(Cassie):  

This brings up an interesting point, I think.  

My take on it is/was that Snape was acting indifferent towards Harry's 
memories because he wanted to avoid a 'bonding moment'. Maybe Snape feels/felt some 
empathy towards Harry. However...Severus Snape develop a personal relationship 
with a student (esp. Harry Potter) or anyone, for that matter? I don't think 
so. He's just not the type.   

I think remaining...professional (As professional as Snape gets...I am a 
Snape lover, but I won't deny he can be a bit of a bastard. Actually, that's why I 
love him, so it's OK ^^)  or being a @#!!$ is his way of coping with deeper 
problems.  Maybe he thinks some issues are better to avoid than to face...or 
something.
