Is Myrddin a name? Merlin is not a name, is the title for the druids boss, 
isn't it? So the "real" Merlin is Arthur's Merlin (the first one in versions 
depicting two), but there were a lot of them spreading through time, as 
Hercules (Hera's Glory) was a title for a position in a religion, I recall 
reading there were at least 44 instances of Hercules, so Jo can choose the 
date for canon Merlin.
