I partly agree with you. The thing is, I really liked Sirius as a 
character, I found him interesting, likeable and I really felt sorry 
for him. And of course it is also horrible for Harry, that Sirius 
died. Nonetheless, my first thought, after it happened, was: "Thank 
God it wasn't Neville". While reading the book, it became pretty 
obvious to me, that either Sirius or Neville will be the dead. Both 
characters had a pretty big part than usual, we got some new 
background informations about them, and they were somehow more 
present than any other character. And between Sirius and Neville, I 
want rather Neville to live. Still I think, Sirius death is a grave 
incident, and for everyone who is disappointed: Please consider what 
this death means to Harry. From Harry's point of view, it was really 
the worst thing that could have happened (except MAYBE the death of 
Hermione or Ron).
