Well, I'll admit it, I wasn't a big Sirius fan to begin with (not that he
was on my unfavorites list). Through the book there were all these close
calls with characters I liked more (Arthur, McGonagall) that by the time we
got to the actual death I was... relieved. I feel horrible typing that, but
its the truth.
I mean, I was surprised when I first read it too. I read it over three times
just to make sure I had it right. But it didn't tear me up.
I _do_ grieve for Harry though. When Harry was in Dumbledore's office all
the way to the part by the lake, I was so... sad, angry, upset - all those
things. Not because of Sirius but because of Harry. I've never, to my
memory, ever wanted to give a character in a book a hug so much in my life.
I'll say right now that I don't think we've seen the last of him, in some
form <proudly waves around leaky SAD DENIAL mug> But now that its had time
to sink in, I'm still not broken up about Sirius at all. So I may be in
denial, but it isn't sad. Unless, I'm in denial about about being a Sirius
fan too, which I'm beginning to suspect myself of.
Star Opal
would Sirius Denial be a good band name?
