Pickle Jimmy,
I understand why you don't like Snape. In fact, I didn't like him
at all until OOP. I think you have provided many reasons to hate
him, but what I think you are missing is the whole DE factor.
If Snape were walking around like he loved all of the students, then
students (especially Malfoy) would be quick to run to Daddy and tell
him how nice Snape is being. Especially to Harry. If Luscious
(sorry for the spelling, I don't read the books, I listen to them)
thinks Snape is still mean to students, he may still believe him to
be a true DE and only working for Dumbledore as a cover up so people
would think (like the Malfoys) that he was forced to be a Voldermort
supporter.
You can hate him for his actions, but at least he has a reason for
being that way. Maybe it is for their own protection.
