Now me (Cindy):
Tish has listed some very good points. I would like to add some of my
own, being a huge Snape fan and a Slytherin, I feel I have to reply...
Snape is a real human character. Many people like him (just look at
the snape centered websites, there are much more devoted to Snape than
any other character, check if you don't believe me) because people can
relate to him. Perhaps not children, because they have not trully had
time to live yet, but mature adults who have experienced more of life
have, and they are the one's who can relate to his character the most.
Also, he is the most intelligent, complicated and mysterious
character in the books. He uses sarcasm as a weapon, but also as dry
humour. Dry humour can only be understood by people who are equally as
witty, not by little kids. Think of the difficult life he has had, and
of the difficult life he is still living. It's amazing that he's
managed to keep himself safe and alive for as long as he has, and this
is only becuase he is cunning enough to do so. I have deep respect for
this character.
