I'm not sure whether this aspect of the storyline is given the 
attention by JKR as it deserves. I teach high school and I can tell 
you from experience that at Harry's age, the hormones are raging. Who 
is dating whom is not only the top subject of conversation, but for 
many students it is the thing that is formost on their minds, 
especially for girls. I can see Harry has things to occupy his mind, 
like survival, but for the other characters, this storyline should be 
given more play, particularly Hermione. I have seen the girls in 
action, if a girl of Hermione's age had interest in Ron, she would 
either be making his life a living hell for not noticing or would be 
totally ignoring, hoping to make his life a living hell.
