I'm thinking that too, because in OoP Snape tells Harry that's is not 
his job to find out about the DE and Voldemort and HArry tells him 
that's tru since it is his job (Snape's) and Snape reacts this way:

"But there was a curious,almost satisfied expression 
on Snape's  face  when  he  answered. 
Yes, Potter, he said, his eyes glinting. That is my job. Now, you 
are ready,we  
will start again. "

If HArry had given Snape the right answer, I doubt that Snape would 
have had a satisfied look on his face. Maybe Snape was satisfied that 
Harry is assuming that spying on the DE is his job and it's not 
thinking about any other possibilities, and one of those 
possibilities can be Snape's real work for DD. Now, what is Snape 
doing? I have no idea.
