So, you'd rather see, say, Lockhart teaching the students these
important skills? ;-)
My point in the above message was that he already IS trusted by
Dumbledore. He WANTS to teach DADA....couldn't it be that it's the
frustration of not being able to that he's taking out on the Potions
students? I say, give him the post on a trial basis and let's see
how he does with it. After all, it seems pretty tough - even for
Dumbledore - to get and keep a competent teacher anyway.
