Harry's lack of interest in his family has always intrigued me, especially as 
he's been given several opportunities throughout the books to ask, and it is 
clear that several people around him knew his parents well and would be in a 
position to answer his questions. The only reason I can think of is that it's 
relevant to the plot somehow and JKR wants to keep it under wraps for now.
