Where do you get that Slytherin is a 'faction' that has for the most
part supported Voldemort?

Loyalty to whom? Prove how??

Many of whose fathers? Yes, several of the Slytherins in Harry's
year have fathers who are named DEs, but what about all the other
Slytherins?

But what would Harry have to lose by allowing Slytherins into the
group? With DU gone, how can any LV supporters in the school betray
him? And what about all the DEs whose House allegiance we don't
know about? Despite what Hagrid told Harry, there could have been
lots of Voldemort supporters from other Houses. Harry's own parents
might have been. I don't believe that personally, but you know what
I mean? There is no canon evidence that the Slytherins are a bloc
of LV supporters, and there is also no evidence that LV didn't have
lots of support from wizards and witches in other Houses.
