seems to defuse this with Ron's nomination as prefect, and touches
on the fact that Harry might not have all the skills required..."

Me:

Even more than this, Michael -- JKR has definitely shown Harry's
less-than-perfect nature by allowing his temper to get himself [and,
potentially, others] in trouble throughout much of OoP. Granted,
t's understandable that a guy living under all that pressure
might sometimes explode; and, in retrospect, we now know that in at
least some cases, the passions roiling around inside Harry were --
shall we say-- "borrowed" involuntarily from outside sources.

Nonetheless, a guy who will risk his own standing as a Quiddich
player (to say nothing of his team's welfare) to attack a mealy-
mouth'd blowhard/bully [it seems that Malfoy can push Harry's
buttons virtually on command]; or who still, after five years,
hasn't learned how to let the caustic in-class comments of Snape
(or, for that matter, Umbridge] to roll off his back, is a guy who
needs a few pointers in self-control.

Less-than-perfect, undoubtedly.
