Just starting my third read of OOP, and this leaped out at me:

"Harry was very pleased he was concealed behind the bush, as
Mrs. Figg had taken to asking him round for tea whenever she
  met him in the street."

It seems to me if Harry had taken her up on it, she'd have told
him what was going on. It's interesting that Harry never thinks of
this, and goes on being cross with Dumbledore for leaving him
without any contact with the WW even after he finds out that Mrs.
  Figg is a Squib.

  Now me :
I really really can relate to Harry a lot in the whole book. Imagine if you were not told things. I know adults think that they are keeping secrets for Harry's protection, but a *lot* of secrets ands protection for someone who knows that he is under threat is unrealistic, especially for someone with Harry's experience. And why , in the first place should he as a 15 year old see any benefit of spending time witha dotty old woman ? And I understand his anger at Dumbledore, beings as how he was the only person he thought would tell him the truth. So maybe *we* can see that Harry wasn't abandoned, but how he might feel that way. You can have loads of people around you, but you still feel abandoned if you feel that none of them are being honest with you.
