There is no reason to believe that the "more reliable methods of
communication" available to Snape would be able to reach Harry in the
Forbidden Forest.
There are two examples of potential secure communications methods in
OOP. The first example is Fawkes. As Snape does not have a phoenix
of his own, we can rule out the use of this method. The second
potential method is via a two-way mirror. While a two-way mirror or
some similiar type of device is a very likely used by the Order, this
method requires both sides of the communication to have a
communication device. As Harry does not have the two-way mirror, or
any other communication device, there is no way for Snape to use this
method.
