Absolutely. When I read that, I thought, aha!  So that's where he
learnt the counter-curse to the broom-bucking jinx...

Incidentally, this is further evidence (as if any were needed) that
Snape was brought up in a family steeped in the Dark Arts.  Hagrid
tells us (I recall imperfectly) that it takes "powerful dark magic" to
tamper with a broom.  There's more than youthful hijinks going on here.

Possibly.  I don't see any reason why it WOULDN'T be AK, either-- as
he's described as "shooting them down" that could comprise anything.  

Sydney-- still awaiting the Snape-guided tour of his old
