Right, he was far too lenient to Malfoy.  Malfoy should have been 
expelled and sent to Azkaban for 10 years for attacking another 
student from behind, a thoroughly despicable act.  Turning him 
into a ferret for a few minutes was for all practicable purposes 
letting him get away with attempted murder.
