Talking about Dudley's Pig Tail, something has always been off about 
it getting removed. How do you explain its existence to the surgeon? 
This sounds more like a job for St. Mungo or the MoM Accidental Magic 
Muggle Squad (or whatever it is called). A quick Memory Modification 
on Vernon and Dudley (Petunia too?) to make them "remember" it being 
done by a Muggle Doctor would explain the situation.
