p. 844, American:

"Sirius seemed a million miles away already, even if a part of Harry
still believed that if he had only pulled back that veil, he would
have found Sirius looking back at him, greeting him, perhaps, with
his laugh like a bark...."

JJKR has consistently made Harry's vague impressions serve as clear
cut foreshadows. It is as if Harry has vague intuitive impressions
that he cannot manifest has firm rational ideas.

When I say that Sirius lives, I mean that he is not done playing an
active role in this story. He has past through the archway/veil of
Death, but as a live person (in my opinion, he was only hit by a
stupefy spell) rather than the spirit (and in this peculiar cast,
and body) of a dead person. He might not return to this world, but
he still could be connected to this story. I'm not sure how yet.
