now mandi:

that makes perfect sense. however, as the cutlery and dishes are
being laid out for dinner, mundungus asks sirius if a goblet
is "solid silver." sirius responds in the affirmative. (personally, i
found this to be one of the funniest moments in the book - love
mundungus and his complete lack of subtlety!) later, when sirius asks
harry why he hasn't asked about voldemort, lupin definitely puts down
his goblet, from which he had been about to take a drink. admittedly,
there's no canon saying the goblet from which lupin is drinking is
one of the solid silver ones; however, if lupin is indeed drinking
from a silver goblet, it would imply that he can touch silver without
being harmed.

perhaps then wormtail can't kill my beloved lupin!! (oh, hope and
pray!)
