Hope you didn't thonk I was 'getting at' you - just a slight case of 
crossed wires and too many owls overhead...

I don't believe Aberforth is completely out the picture where the 
Order is concerned.  There are other members we never see at #12, I 
don't remeber Sturgis Podmore ever being at the HQ and Hagrid 
definitely wasn't ever there (that we know of).

Could it just be that Aberforth's keeping his head down?  After all 
if alal the 'shadier' characters in the wizarding world found out he 
was back in the 'Dumbledore Fold' as it were, would they still use 
the Hog's Head as a place to discuss their 'dodgy-dealings'?

Also, as we know AD is around 150 yrs old I would say that it was 
quite likely that Aberforth was that much older/younger than his 
brother (do we have any canon as to who is older?) it could be that 
not many of the wizarding community even know the barman is related 
to the headmaster.
