Actually, a Boggart is from mythology. It is a kind of mischevious
spirit found in North England that engages in poltergeist-type
activities. (http://skell.org/SKELL/mythad.htm)
I found a kids book in the library named "the Boggart" by Susan Cooper
when I was checking out her (wonderful) Dark is Rising series, and it
caught my eye due to the title...
