Also, Lupus is Latin for "wolf"  Also, some more:  Malfoy, the name 
derives from the Latin maleficus, meaning evil-doer.  Mal foi is 
French for "bad faith".  Boggart seems like it came from the 
Bogeyman.   Gilderoy, being gilded (covered in a thin gold foil)to 
make him seem like something he is not.   I can not think of anymore 
at the moment but I think there are a lot more throughout the books.
