The kids have certainly evidenced the behavioral changes that accompany 
adolescent hormonal storms -- mood sings, awkwardness around members of 
the oopposite sex, growth spurt and ravenous appetites (for the boys, at 
least), etc.

As far as wizard lifespans go, as far as we know only Nicholas Flamel and his 
wife lived into their 600s, and the did so by magical means that are no longer 
available (you HAVE read the first book, haven't you?).
