Hermione/Snape (OoP and a bit from PS/SS)

The problem, as I see it, with this is that Hermione thrives in every class she
has ever taken save one, Divination, which requires less book study and
more "you got it or you don't got it" skills.
So, I'm not sure Snape, or for that matter, any other teacher, is doing anything
all that special with Hermione. She seems the type to thrive with nearly any
teacher.
Can Snape take credit for his style helping Hermione, when so many other
styles seem to do just fine too? I don't think so.

Thanks, Marianne. You know, I don't have so much a problem with Snape
being tough in class on Potions matters (and for the one day, on DADA
matters.)
I do have a problem with double-standards, favoring the Slyth brats over the
Gryffindor kids, but if he is being a hard-ass to get them to be better potion
makers, fine.
But personal appearance attacks? Insulting Neville in front of other teachers
in THEIR classes?
No, I don't see how that is helping.
