Sirius was dead, to begin with. There is no doubt whatever about
that. Old Sirius was as dead as a doornail.
Mind! I dont mean to say that I know of my own knowledge, what
there is particularly dead about a doornail. I might have been
inclined, myself, to regard a coffin-nail as the deadest piece of
ironmongery in the trade. But the wisdom of our ancestors is in
the simile; and my unhallowed hands shall not disturb it, or the
countrys done for. You will, therefore, permit me to repeat,
emphatically, that Sirius was as dead as a doornail.<<<<<<<
My interpretations of interviews with JKR that the person that was going to die in OOP (Sirius) is died and wasn't coming back. Am I mistaken? I liked Sirius and all, but I do agree that without the pain and hardships that Harry is going through and gonna go through the story won't have as much impact or incite as much response as the books have had. Sirius to me as adventurous, opinionated, and a risk-taker, but he was also responsible. He was a troublemaker when he was younger as most kids are and grew up. He was still a bit of a troublemaker, but showed his maturity in his dedication to protect Harry. The way he died may not have been detailed or drawn out, but he did as he said in GOF, "Fullfilling my duties as Godfather." We all wish that bad things don't happen. But that's not reality. And over coming lose and pain to protect the greater good has always been a lesson taught many times over. Just MHO, not preaching.
