BIG SNIP HERE

in his godson's life (I'm sorry but he even told Kreacher he cared
for Harry, we all know he cared he wanted to protect him) with
arrogance. I don't think it is that horrible for a person to have
want to spend time with the person they were suppossed to have
guardianship for after being seperated from them for 13 years. I
think it's really sad that we are insulting Sirius in this manner,
whether he was a good person or a bad person He WAS important.BIG

Harry in any danger, we know this because of the occumlemncy scene.
He might have put hisself in danger but I think most of us agree that
if one of our children was struggling with life (and hurting as much
as Harry) then we would do everything we can to protect them. I
think in the end that was Sirius motivations not

ME:
That was a very heated defense of Sirius and I'd expect nothing less
from a devoted fan but the truth is, Sirius had said a few things
that could have easily confused Harry, made him want to live up to
what Sirius would like him to be, which is more like James. I cringed
when Sirius seemed to dare Harry, almost challenge him in that casual
way to be more adventurous. Harry is just a kid, with as we all know,
very few adults that perform anything like parenting for him. It's
absolutely natural he'd want to please Sirius, be what Sirius would
want him to be. I am only relieved that this didn't go further than
it did. At the initial point we meet Sirius in OOP, he's obviously
changed quite a bit from the caring, cautious man he was in GOF. Now
he's like a caged animal, desperate to be of some use, at loose ends
casting about for something to ease his isolation. I do not doubt he
loves Harry beyond measure, that he is more than capable of being
kind, caring and solicitous, but there is without doubt a new aspect
of him, the person willing to act without regard to the consequences
at times. I didn't personally understand how this aspect developed. I
thought it abrupt. But that's where JKR took the story. I don't blame
Sirius for his frustrations. I only wish he could have remained the
cool-headed man that cared for Harry in GOF.
