I don't really see the series taking that turn either. What I wrote
was a "what if" based on Harry trying to bring Sirius back back to
life. But if he hasn't seriously considered bringing his parents
back after learning how to do it in GOF, I don't think he'll ever try
it with anyone.
Further, after his talk with Nick in OOP, he understands that most
wizards and witches are content to move on, even when they have to
leave unfinished business and children behind. They must come to
understand that no one is indispensible, and life will go on and
things will be resolved without them. The only ones who stay seem to
be those who are afraid to move ahead, and that doesn't fit Harry's
parents or Sirius.
I wonder why, with concrete proof, by the existence of ghosts, that
death is not final, why anyone is afraid of what's ahead. Death is
not as much an unknown in the Potterverse as it is in the real world.
